smile as they pass by our shore. Further south and north they will run
into fog and rain, rough weather and seas. Yet here, in
this little window of the southern gold coast, they seem to dance in the sunlight
that almost always fills the waves this time of year. Is it true
that they pause and smile as they pass by our Beach? I have seen as
they turn and seem
somehow to dance as the sunlight glistens off the shiny wet leather of their
back. And once, when the day was particularly delightful, I think I
did see that smile, just as the largest of whales turned his impressive gaze
toward me, there as I sat at my place by the sea ...

For those of us with adventure in
our spirit, there is a place we must visit at least once in our lifetime, the
wild Coast of Oregon. A place for those who believe that
nature is an adventure. That a sunset is more exciting than a carnival
ride. That a deer walking down main street is a sight to remember.
That the sound of a wave crashing on towering ancient rocks, is a sound like
music. Those of us who cherish the memory of the ocean as we walk through
tall shore pine and gaze into the ocean below and see as it dances along the shoreline a
hundred feet below our path. Visit the southern coast for
breathtaking views, wide sand beaches, peace and quiet, nature, and wonderful weather all summer
long and well into the late fall. Visit with us, and we will see to it that you have seen it all
before you leave!
Is it

as they pass by the Whale Cove Beach? Maybe. Yet I have seen them
slow to a stop as they pass this way. I have seen as they circle and seem
somehow to dance as the sunlight glistens off the shiny wet leather of their
huge bodies. And once, when the day was particularly delightful, I think I
did see that smile, just as the largest of whales turned his impressive gaze toward me,
there as I sat on that beach dreaming of sailing on the cool waves out past the
horizon.....
